My acupuncturist makes me stick my tongue out. Why?

Why does Karen want to look at your tongue?
"The tongue reflects what is going on inside the body. Is it an interior or exterior condition? Hot or cold? Excess or deficient? Yin or Yang? I look for shape, color, size, texture and the thickness of the coating or lack of it. This information also tells me which organ needs attention as well as assist me to formulate a treatment plan." - Karen Chan

From color to coating, the tongue is a map to the body. Karen can see how your immune system is functioning, signs of anemia, or if you've had too much dairy!

Practice monitoring your health by paying attention to your tongue, just briefly observing it every morning will help you recognize changes and needs of your body.
